26 Dec 06 Conquer your niche - but don’t put all your eggs in the one basket

First of all - I hope you had a great Christmas.  We had a lovely, quiet time - and didn’t overeat or overindulge.  How sanctimonious is that!

I decided to grab a few minutes this Boxing Day to make a little update to my comments on the Conqueryourniche discussion forum - and the ways to market it.  It’s developing into a lively community with many platinum nuggets of advice contained in the discussions.  The free advertising slots are certainly bringing traffic to my own web sites (as are my signature files and profile url).  I think that that will continue to improve over time, especially as I take part in forum threads on an active basis.

I decided it would be a good idea to try promoting my affiliate url in a new place;  so, I have spent some time in the last few days writing and refining a review of Conqueryourniche - and decided to promote it using Google adwords.  On one of my words, I was achieving a great clickthrough rate;  however, the site where I published my review has been off air for a few hours now - so some of my clicks are going to waste.

It just goes to show, you should always keep an eye on web traffic, especially if you are buying advertising space and should have an alternative ready and waiting, rather than relying on just one source to generate sales for your site.

So, I’m off to find some new baskets!

If you decide to market products in a specific niche, just remember, you can’t rely on promoting in one arena alone, especially on the internet.  That leaves you exposed if the web site goes down.  You must provide alternative ways for potential customers to reach you.

Happy New Year

13 Dec 06 Internet Marketing Forum - Conquer your fear.

When I put my first post on a discussion forum, I was shaking inside; I was new to the internet, knew nothing about the etiquette of meeting folks online - and yet I had to ask my questions to learn something. Over the years, like me, millions of people have faced that first step and have contributed to the many and varied discussion forums that abound on the web.

If you’re looking for a great place to start learning about internet marketing, then I definitely recommend Conquer Your Niche

Why?

  • There are many very knowledgeable people there - some of whom have made a great deal of money. What’s great about that is that they are also happy to contribute their expertise to help you get started.
  • What else? Well, if you just join the forum and don’t upgrade your membership, you get some advertising credits. “What’s so special about that?”, you’re asking. Well, your adverts will be spidered by the search engines; if you have links from a very fast-growing web site back to your own, then your site will seem that much more important and will move up the search engine results much faster.

Don’t delay - join today! Conquer your fear of taking part in discussion forums, discover techniques and methods to help you succeed online. Conqueryourniche is a great place to start.

PS - if you are an elite member of this group, the fantastic news is that you get Huge bonus advertising slots!  Well worth the money, IMHO.

03 Dec 06 Conquer your niche - a review!

You will be able to network with copywriters, programmers, traffic generators, graphics and website designers, online and offline marketers all in one place!!!

The forum in question is called Conqueryourniche
What are the benefits of being a member?

Well, there are several ways to look at this site; firstly, there is an extremely active discussion going on in various sections - if you decide to take part, then the pace can be fast and furious. If you ask for help, then you are likely to get some very helpful and knowledgeable suggestions. If you give help, then you build credibility by using your expertise to solve someone’s problems. As with many other forums, you can publicise your site and business by using your signature file.

Then, to reward you for making a lively discussion, the forum also gives you advertising credits. If you are a free member, you get a 1/2 credit for each post you read and 5 credits for answering questions (or asking them).

As a paid member, the advertising benefits improve dramatically. You get 1 credit for reading a post and 20 credits for answering.

These credits then “buy” ads on the site - which are shown as long as you have credits in your account.

There is an SEO benefit to doing all of this; because it is such an active forum, it will be actively spidered by the search engine bots. This means that if you participate fully in the discussions, making several posts each day, then there are going to be many active relevant links back to your site found by many search engines. Powerful!

I hope you enjoy visiting the site and I look forward to seeing you there.
